This version of Silent Night was arranged to minimize right hand play after I had an injury, and was subsequently diagnosed with arthritis and bone spurs in my right thumb. It requires no levers and can be played on harps going down two octaves below middle C.
This piece for 26 string lever harp in the key of C includes both songs. I arranged this for the harp therapy program I applied to in late 2020. Not perfectly played, but definitely heartfelt! These are all photos I've taken on pre-pandemic travels. Enjoy!
This piece requires the G 1.5 octaves below middle C. It is a very simple arrangement of this traditional and stately tune which is often played for flag lowering ceremonies or at military functions. I arranged it on Memorial Day 2021.
This piece requires just 26 strings but F and C levers are required. There are many lever changes, and they are done two at a time. Note that I am not the copyright holder for this song, but music but have received permission to share my arrangement with you. I was inspired by the medical and political challenges we are facing at this time to create this video. It reminds me to look past perfecting and instead strive for a more peaceful way of living.
I hope you'll enjoy playing these three songs for lever harps in the key of G. The range of notes is from G 1.5 octaves below middle C all the way up to the C 2 octaves above middle C. This piece starts out with Rock-a-Bye Baby, then transitions to Brahms's Lullaby (sometimes called Cradlesong or Wiegenlied), and finishes with Hush, Little Baby.
